Our Story

Growing up with an Italian mom, she always insisted on buying a product that was a little more expensive, but would last a life time. We were often dressed in self made dresses and clothes made from good quality natural fabrics like wool or linnen. Looking back, I kind of live by that philosophy. There are still items in my closet to be found from when I was a teenager.

Good quality, timeless style.

Although I never studied to ‘become’ a designer, I remember to draw dresses and pieces of clothing ever since I was a little girl (copying my older sister;). So when I couldn’t find a nice tailored suit for motorbike driving, I thought: let’s draw the suit I’d like to wear myself! I went on an adventure to Asia and had that drawing made into a real leather suit.

With that suit I also designed a bag. A bag that would fit my essentials, would not fly away in the wind, that would not be in my way while driving, and a bag that I could grab easily when getting off the bike for a stop. A bag that was practical, yet stylish. That bag, has found its way to Cape Town.

Through travels, destiny, work, the wind and love, my partner and I ended up in Cape Town, South Africa. Overlooking the Table Mountain after a windy day at the beach I asked him: “do you have a pen and paper? I have an idea.”

“I’ve always loved leather. The endurance of it, the way it shapes, develops over time. The art of tanning. The products you can make of it.

I think it’s in my blood.”
